Privacy policy

Ariguma Aviation Consultants Limited (“AACL”, “we”, “us”) is the data controller for this site and for Aviation Academy. Our office is at Imperial Mall, Lugard Avenue, Entebbe, Uganda. Questions about this policy go to arigumaaviation@gmail.com.

What this policy covers

It applies when you browse the public website, send a contact message, create a student account, continue with Google, buy a subject, or sit a practice or mock paper. Practice content is training material. It is not an official UCAA or other CAA examination.

Information we collect

Account details

Email, password hash (if you register with a password), username, first name, last name, and optional phone number. If you continue with Google we receive your Google email, name, and — if Google sends it — a profile photo. Those values are used to open the student profile. We do not receive Gmail, Drive, Calendar, or other Google product data. See sign-in consent for the exact scopes.

Study and exam activity

Subject access, practice and mock attempts, answers, scores, pass or fail, and bookmarks. Staff with the right role can see aggregated academic reporting; they do not use this to market to you.

Purchases

Order items, amounts in Uganda shillings, and payment status. Card and mobile-money details are handled by Pesapal. AACL stores the order record and Pesapal’s confirmed status, not your full card number.

Contact messages

Name, email, phone, subject, and message when you use the contact form or write to us directly.

Technical data

A session cookie so you stay signed in, a theme preference in local storage if you choose dark or light mode, and ordinary server logs (IP address, browser, pages requested) used to keep the service available and secure.

Why we use it

• To create and secure your student account, including Google sign-in and password reset.
• To deliver purchased subjects and record practice results.
• To take payment and confirm entitlements after Pesapal reports a paid order.
• To answer enquiries about consultancy, training, and certifications.
• To protect the service against abuse and to keep an audit trail of academic administration.

We process this information because you asked for the service (a contract), because you consented to Google sharing your profile, or because we have a legitimate interest in running a secure training portal. We do not sell personal data or use Google profile data for advertising.

Where it is stored

Account, catalogue, attempt, and order records are stored in our hosted database (Supabase). The public site is served from our hosting provider. Payment confirmation is processed by Pesapal. Staff access is limited by role.

How long we keep it

Contact messages are kept while we handle the enquiry and for a reasonable follow-up period. Student accounts, attempts, and paid orders are kept while the account is active and as long as we need them for access, academic records, or accounting. You can ask us to close an account; we will delete or anonymise what we no longer need, unless the law requires us to retain a record of a paid order.

Your rights

Under Uganda’s Data Protection and Privacy Act, 2019, you may request access to your personal data, correction of inaccurate data, and — where the law allows — deletion or restriction. Write to arigumaaviation@gmail.com from the address on the account. You can also revoke Google access in your Google Account permissions; that stops future Google sign-in until you grant access again.

Children

Aviation Academy is aimed at adult candidates and working aviation professionals. If you believe we hold data about a child without a proper basis, contact us and we will look into it promptly.

We will update this page when the way we handle information changes. The date at the top is the latest revision.
